The Project Director will directly manage the research and development of new psychological assessments and software programs. The positions involves collaboration with authors to conceptualize, schedule, and execute test development plans that result in psychological assessments that have strong reliability, validity, and normative characteristics, and that also result in highly marketable and profitable products.

The Project Director is directly involved in the management of research databases, and they perform the statistical analyses involved in product development. The position is also directly involved in the technical writing, editing, and preparation of product manuals, test forms, and other components. Project Directors have top-level project management responsibilities, and they direct the efforts of a diverse internal team and various external vendors, data sites, data collectors, consultants, and authors. The position is also involved in acquiring new products for publication and for developing proposals for potential new products.

Responsibilities include:

Responsible for conceptualizing, planning, scheduling, and executing research that results in highly reliable, valid, and marketable assessment instruments; ensures that APA, AERA, and internal standards for psychological tests are met
Performs and interprets a variety of statistical and psychometric analyses; has excellent knowledge of multivariate statistics, including exploratory/confirmatory factor analysis, discriminant function analysis, cluster analysis, diagnostic/ROC analysis, multiple regression, curve fitting, and graphical/visual depiction of data
Performs a range of scientific/technical writing tasks; has a strong knowledge of APA editorial style
Has top-level project management responsibility for projects in his/her portfolio; responsibilities include directing/coordinating internal and external staff, managing his/her own time and effort, and reporting to management on project progress and status
Creates initial project budgets that provide for appropriate staff and financial resources to ensure project success; manages internal staff, external vendors, contractors, and authors to complete projects on-budget
Creates initial project schedules that provide for appropriate time intervals for development work to ensure project success; manages internal staff, external vendors, contractors, and authors to complete projects on-schedule
The qualified candidate will have:

An earned doctoral degree in clinical psychology, school psychology, or a closely related field; graduation from a clinical psychology doctoral program that adheres to the scientist-practitioner training model is strongly preferred
One year of post-doctoral work experience
2 to 5 years of Management experience
The successful candidates doctoral, internship, and post-doctoral training will have strong research components, including research planning, research management, and scholarly analysis and reporting of research results
Project management experience, including management/coordination of a research team, and the creation and management of project budgets and schedules
Strong track record and evidence of research productivity
