DescriptionJob Purpose Statement
The Product Engineer is responsible for the rapid development of highly featured, high value mechanical systems. New products are developed through concurrent engineering practices, requiring department members to understand critical inter-relationships between activities.
Job Functions
Lead the design development reviews with Designers, Manufacturing, Industrial Design, and Service.
The reviews include concept/alternate designs, DFM/DFA development, and progress of design and final acceptance.
Establish Reliability test plans.
Prepare Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and track through implementation.
Vendor interface in specifying purchased components.
Analyze problems, possible causes and solutions.
Identify Cost Reductions and implement on current products.
Work directly with customers to find solutions.
Job Qualification Requirements
BS Mechanical Engineering / BS Electrical Engineering
Minimum 3 years and experience in a manufacturing and assembly environment.
Experience with Vibrations, Sound, Acoustic, Motors, Compressors, Rotating Equipment, Turbine, HVAC, Pumps, Valves, Motor Controls, etc.
Design skills with software such as: ProE, Unigraphics, AutoCad, Matlab, Ansys
Good communication, organizational and leadership skills.
